Carmen's Canine Care

Hello my lovelies. I’m Carmen, and when I’m not moonlighting as a paediatric nurse or wearing my mother-hat, I enjoy caring for my ‘second family’ of canine characters. I’ve been called an empathic touchy-feely type, and I guess it’s true insofar as gravitating to carer roles – but I receive so much joy in return. Dog-caring is a natural third role for me.

My set-up is not formal. I care for a maximum of 3 dogs at any one time at my house in Moorooka, where the backyard is fenced. I care for all kinds of dogs, including puppies, old dogs, and any dogs that are too anxious for a standard, busier daycare centre. I find that the dogs generally like to be wherever I am. Sometimes we go on walks, depending on the weather and how everyone is feeling. I have pet insurance in case of mishaps but we generally keep things low-key and simple. It’s important to me that all dogs become friends with each other, not just with me, so I pay close attention to their dynamics and will adjust my schedule accordingly.
